Look, we get it - nobody really enjoys reading through legal stuff. But here's the thing: your privacy matters to us, and we think you deserve to know exactly what happens with your personal information when you stay with us or visit our website. So we've tried to keep this as straightforward as possible, no fancy lawyer-speak where we can avoid it.
When you book a room or use our services, we'll ask for the basics - your name, email, phone number, and payment details. Pretty standard stuff. We also collect info about your stay preferences because, honestly, remembering that you prefer a higher floor with extra pillows just makes your next visit that much better.
Your info helps us run things smoothly - processing reservations, sending confirmations, and making sure your stay goes off without a hitch. We'll also use it to reach out with special offers or updates, but only if you're cool with that. You can opt out anytime, no hard feelings.
We're not in the business of selling your data - that's not our style. However, we do share info with third parties when necessary, like payment processors to handle transactions or service providers who help us operate the hotel. Everyone we work with is bound by strict confidentiality agreements.
We might also share info if legally required - say, with law enforcement or regulatory bodies. But that's only when we absolutely have to, not casually.
Security's a big deal for us. We use industry-standard encryption for sensitive data like credit card numbers, and our systems are regularly updated and monitored. Marketing Opt-Out: Not interested in our promotional emails? No problem. There's an unsubscribe link in every message, or just shoot us an email.
Data Portability: Under Canadian privacy laws, you've got the right to receive your data in a usable format if you want to take it elsewhere.
We're based in Vancouver, BC, and all data is stored and processed in Canada. If you're visiting from outside Canada, your info will be transferred here and subject to Canadian privacy laws. We comply with PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) and take international data transfer obligations seriously.
Our services aren't directed at kids under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information. If you're booking for a family with children, we'll only collect what's needed for the reservation. If we discover we've accidentally collected a child's data, we'll delete it promptly.
We don't keep your information longer than we need to. Reservation and billing info is typically retained for seven years to comply with tax and accounting regulations. Marketing preferences and guest profiles stick around as long as you're an active guest or until you ask us to remove them.
Once the retention period expires, we securely delete or anonymize your data so it can't be traced back to you.
Our website might include links to other sites - maybe local attractions or partner services. Just so you know, we're not responsible for their privacy practices. Once you click through to another site, their policies take over. We'd recommend giving those a read too if you're concerned about privacy.
Things change, and sometimes we'll need to update this privacy policy. When we do, we'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If there are major changes that affect how we handle your data, we'll let you know directly via email or through a notice on our website.
It's probably worth checking back here every now and then, especially if it's been a while since your last visit.
